Q: What triggers the beeper? The missing power supply or an extra signal? How to program the LEDs?

Antonia It needs 5 volts all the time. Your flight controller has outputs for beeper-buzzer, LED and 5 volt. To know how to use it, please consult the betaflight wiki, in case your flight controller uses betaflight.

Its micro-USB side seems to work (with my old phone), its USB-C side does not work (no charging the battery, no data connection). This latter part was more important for me. For me, it is not a trustworthy product.
