Ollie It really depends on your antenna. I can get around 1 mile out of 25mw with some pagodas and a rapidfire and since you theoretically double range every time you multiply output power by 4, I would expect to be able to get around 8-10 miles

Kozso71 If you connected 5V to Vcc then you should leave open J1. If you connected 3,3V to Vcc then you should short J1.

Ollie Agreed this receiver does not support fail safe!!!!! This is very dangerous and honestly shouldn't even be sold without a failsafe feature.

Ollie I very much agree with this statement. It is very hard to configure and set up.

For the price this was not worth it. This was an expensive stack to learn on. Expect to have to make changes and check everything before connecting power. It does not come in any other option than Frsky which means you have to add a receiver for other transmitters thus tying up one of the other UARTs. The micro sd card ejects in a crash. You have to change the pins on one of the provided video in and out wires because the GND and signal are swapped from the front to the back of the board (See the photos of the manual). The 4in1 ESC does not provide power to the flight controller, you have to solder your own wires. the USB ports are facing forward and are blocked by the FPV camera when installed, I recommend turning the top two boards of the stack 90 degrees to make them easily accessible. Your orientation will have to be updated in the betaflight/cleanflight configuration tab. Regardless how you orient your stack, check your motors one at a time in the motors tab, they will likely need to be remapped using the resource and set resource commands in the CLI window. Then you will need to swap motor direction using wire swapping, passthrough, or bl_heli (youtube it).

Ollie Very strange. I solely use Gaoneng because of their minimal voltage sag and spectacularly long life. Probably a bad batch but definitely something to look out for. Thanks for the review!

At first these batteries seam fine, high c rating and a good weight to mah ratio. But i have never had batteries that voltage sag as bad as these ones and ive been doing RC for a very long time(though just recently getting into quadcopters). I bought three of them, and maybe its possible i just got a bad batch because generally i hear good things about Gaoneng batteries but its a problem with all 3 that i bought. After 3 or so minutes of typical freestyle flight these batteries have voltage sagged on me multiple times so bad that i am unable to even gain altitude and have caused multiple crashes. Im fairly new to quadcopters, i dont fly too crazy and am rarely near full throttle. after unplugging the voltage will slowly come back up to normal which indicates sag and not just normal drain. I used to fly on a 7 minute timer with 800mah batteries and with these, despite being 850mah, i dont trust anything longer than 3 minutes because they might sag and cause a crash because im unable to catch myself out of a dive or whatever. Theyre certainly not confidence inspiring, thats for sure. You never know if the power will be there when you need it Note: i use these on a 3 inch and a 4 inch quad. Results are the same on both, though the 3 inch seams to be a tad worse (probably due to the lower efficiency of using this size battery on a 3 inch quadcopter)
