Nice little compact unit. Does what it says on the box. The only negative for me is no detection click. Perhaps the manufacturer could do a firmware upgrade to add a detection click like other Geiger Counters. That said it still gets 5 stars for ease of use and quality of build. If anyone want's a budget Geiger counter with great functionality this is the one.

Nice tester. Very well made, solid construction with decent easy to follow instructions. LCD readout is a nice feature giving a clear display of line voltage. RCD test is a useful safety addition to ensure your protected circuits are functioning properly. A great addition to any electricians toolbox

First of all the delivery time I was given was smashed by the seller, arriving well before the estimated day. Delivery packaging was quite sparse, but the item was not damaged in any way. The charger was nicely packed in all recyclable materials. This product looks great and has superb functionality, a great addition to any electronics workshop. On test the unit performed flawlessly, even better than expected. The display give very useful feed back of charging voltage/current and wattage. For the price this little unit is absolutely fantastic value, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it over any other similar unit. The only negative I can give is the supplied mains lead does not have a built/replaceable fuse, so this must be replace for safety reasons. At a guess it to keep the packaging down to a minimum. However it is illegal in the UK and would never pass an electrical safety test. In my opinion though this is a real nit pick, just cut the supplied plug off and fit a fused one. So no biggie for me, but some would probably find that annoying and be very negative about it. Seriously, this is an awesome and high quality piece of kit and should never be marked down for a mains lead.

My delivery was super duper fast, arriving way before the suggested date and the site updates. That's a definite positive. The packaging was not great and quite beaten up, however the unit inside was NOT damaged in any way. A euro power supply is sent, but that's no issue for me. Not going to have a chance to test it fully for a while, but judging by my research these little units are quite good. Hooking it up to my scope gave promising results. Quite stable outputs for Sine and Triangle waves, however the square wave and TTL outputs are a little noisy. I haven't tested the counter function, but I didn't buy for that. If it works well then its a bonus. There is no user manual supplied, one can be found on the net, but the unit is nice and easy to use. The rotary controls are perhaps a little close together, again no biggie. For the price this little unit is very good value. I think it could find a home in any amateur to small/medium sized electronics workshop.

My new meter arrived today, a MUSTOOL MDS8207, in what I can only say was a very quick delivery time. The unit arrived in 100% perfect condition, despite the sparse packaging, not even a single dent in the box. So that's a big thumbs up to start with. After unpacking the unit, I was extremely pleased with the initial quality. The feel of the plastic body in the hand is good. No cheap greasy plastic here. The test leads look and feel good too. The K-type thermocouple supplied look a little fragile and CANNOT be used with liquids, but that's been a bit picky. The flip-out stand under which the battery cover is located and the battery cover both have a positive click about them. Only time will tell how these two parts will wear, but I think they'll fair quite well. Fitting the batteries. There's a diagram on the cover which shows how the batteries should be inserted. The two outer ones are fitted first, for no other reason than you physically couldn't fit them if you fitted the middle one first, simple really. Turning on for the first time. Over the years I've found the rotary switches on meters to be a real problem with almost every meter I've used failing and requiring serious attention. The rotary switch here has a good positive click to it, and turns the meter off a both ends of its travel, hopefully this will make it last longer by virtue of having less movement. Again only time will tell here. Once on the display looks crisp, very clear and easily readable, even in bright lighting conditions. The only niggle for me, and I think I'm being really picky, is the surround of the LCD is too visible. Could have done with a slightly larger bezel. But that barely detracts from the overall quality of the display panel. In oscilloscope mode I think it looks as good as scopes costing many hundreds of pounds/dollars. My basic testing gave me very good results and high accuracy in all modes. To sum up then, for the cost this meter is quality, a real winner.
