Q: Can I test zener diode with this?

Asked by Mateus21 on 2018-09-06 07:56:03

col_panek It will test as a diode but will not indicate the zener voltage. You can do that with a power supply that exceeds the zener voltage, a ballast resistor (1-10K ought to do it) and a high impedance voltmeter, any digital type will do. Just hook the power supply to the back biased zener in series with the resistor and read off the zener voltage.

Q: it can cut????

Asked by bob on 2019-03-20 05:16:27

col_panek You'llsee little scissors marks every 3 LEDs. Cut there, and you have 3 LEDs and one resistor which run off 12 volts. So you can cut it in multiples of 3.

col_panek Ifyou run more than a couple meters in series, the voltage drop will make the end ones dimmer noticeably. You can fix this by running another set of power feed wires in parallel and attaching them to the strip every few meters.#18 wire should be sufficient. If you need to estimate the total current draw, just take the specs for the strip and multiply by the length. Every strip model is different but the amperage per meter or strip should be given.

Q: what is the transmission range of this module ?

Asked by Ratnagiri Prabhakar on 2019-11-29 01:22:17

col_panek The current draw is listed as 17 mA, and at 3 volts, that's 50 mW. It looks like the output comes right off the synthesizer chip without a power amplifier. Probably uses the same circuit as many other short range FM gadgets. they are made to use in your car to transmit from a phone or flash drive to your car radio. With a matched antenna you can get about 100 feet of range out of them. If your antenna is too short, there are obstacles, interference is high or your receiver is poor, the range will be considerably less.

Q: Does the set contain parts to the calibration?

Asked by krajan1 on 2019-11-15 11:56:07

col_panek The spec says it comes with a cal kit, consisting of an open, short, and load. Plus a couple cables. Probably not real high accuracy, but they should get it calibrated well enough. You don't get Rohde & Schwarz quality for this price.

Q: is that product included with power supply or without power supply

Asked by sanjoy banik on 2017-12-18 01:19:16

col_panek No power supply. You need 12 volts

col_panek Feed the strip from the middle, or run another set of wires to the other end. The strip is fairly resistive and you'll get a significant voltage drop along 5 meters.
