Q: What does the "outdoor" button exactly do? I don't notice any difference in the brightness of the laserbeam.

streeternico Outdoor mode is for use with a laser detector/target. I believe it pulses the beam at a frequency the receiver detects when the line can't be seen. Not useful for pretty much any application I've ever needed.
