After a couple of early morning dog walks I am impressed with the almost lack of weight and decent run times with my EBL aaa nimh batteries. I estimate that you could run the torch on high for over an hour with these cells. The 70 lumens is more than enough for normal navigation on trails. In fact, I only use it on middle mode with no problems. I would not take it on a long hike or into the wilderness but for urban use it is great.
