This is a really great product and I love to use it to repair cables or even extend them. When heat is applied it shrinks and glues to the cable as described. The solder also starts to melt, but unfortunately it needs a very high temperature and it's hard to find the right spot between "melting the solder" and "burning the plastic".

The Cable Joiners worked very well and having a wide variety of sizes is great. and I will be buying more especially the self soldering variety
