I have been so excited to get this tool. I didn't realise there were tools on the market that could help with this. However I think the drill should come with a collar so it doesn't go beyond the correct depth.

Always double check on scrap wood first as it might not suit all hinge types / dimensions .... Also the plastic is "soft", so if using it when drilling it will damage the template. A option is to us a punch to mark the points.
