olsmokey Don't be silly. Of course it's a power amp but obviously not enough power for you. You'd be amazed at how much sound can be generated by 3 watts into a really efficient speaker system.

Q: Does this work as a good watt meter to track solar generation?

Asked by FreedomEagle on 2020-02-05 03:18:59

olsmokey From it's specs, it should work as a solar monitor. I'll let you know after I get mine as that's exactly what it will be used for. Some functions I won't need, but the current and voltage displays look very useful for a low voltage solar installation between panels and battery. It might need to be powered via USB at night to ensure continuity. ADDED 13/5/2020: After receiving and fitting the unit to my solar system (12v/300AH) between the panels and controller I find it works really well as an ammeter, charge logger (on a continually updating oscilloscope type display) and a voltmeter, all with quite good accuracy. The volts reading is small but easily read and the ammeter is an autoranging display. It does what I want and does it very nicely. The other function that I'm not using is a pulse generator to test servos and the like.

Q: What is the power rating? Output current?

Asked by olsmokey on 2020-03-14 08:45:26

Bibelot 200W. However, there will be some loss when used, and it can eventually reach 180W. Output current = 200W / the voltage you set.

olsmokey Thisunit uses a standard 18650 battery which is available just about everywhere, including Banggood. It mentions this in the blurb above and also says that the battery IS NOT INCLUDED. Please read the blurb before purchasing.

olsmokey Itflashes on the phone because the LEDs are driven by an unfiltered supply and their intensity varies. Your eye can't see this directly, but the phone camera can.
