absolutely necessary to keep a few of these on hand. I ruined mine thanks to screws being too tight on my bison. If you're going to run it stock especially necessary since your bumpers are bolted on to this piece and if you damage it bye bye front diff. I bought an aftermarket bumper and unscrewed the original bumper where it meets this part so that in case of a front impact it won't damage it. It's a direct replacement for the original.
