Very useful to check and set the collimation of the Newtonian telescope. Upon arrival I did a quick check to see if the collimator was itself collimated and it was indeed. Just rotate the collimator in a wide L bracket and see the spot on a far off wall. It shouldn't trace circles but should hold nearly still.
