Very happy with this small lamp. I wanted something to light small desktop sized models for photography and video and this fits the bill nicely. Build quality seems to be satisfactory for the price and a quick test proved that all was working correctly. Light output should be adequate for my needs and I do like the variable output. For me the absence of a battery isn't a problem as I have a large supply of Lipo batteries that I use for powering RC model aeroplanes - a simple adapter to connect them to the battery connectors on the lamp itself is all that's required. The lamp can also be powered using a small AC - DC power supply that one would find for a small laptop computer or similar provided the output is within the range of the lamp and the plug is of the correct polarity with the centre pin being positive. Long term use will be the real test but so far this meets all my expectations and I may buy a second.
