There seems to be a bug in the display on the NY-991ES Plus calculator. If it is placed in complex mode with mathio set for matho output and the decimal is fixed at any number (i.e. option 6 under set-up) and the number pi is the coefficient of the imaginary component, then the calculator displays two pi symbols instead of pi times i. This is a problem if anyone is calculating reactance for either a capacitor or an inductor in an electronic circuit inasmuch as there is always a pi factor on the imaginary component. Naturally, one could press the S D button and it will show the answer with a 3.14.. next to an i, or the output could be set to lineo and it works fine. However, it seems to be a true bug in the firmware. I notified Newyes about this, but received no response.
