I tried a trio extension with a switch as pictured, and it was too long for the box. I also tried plugs, eg my credit card machine, on an unswitched extension and the lid did not fit on as there was insufficient depth to the box. Therefore these will not be able to be used with most mobile phone plugs which are a similar size to the c/c plug. Only standard household plugs will fit and enable the lid to be added, and only unswitched socketed extensions will fit.
