This works as advertised with 1amp and 2 amp switched loads, both gives just under 3amps, only issue is the resistors do get hot pretty quickly so this is fine for a quick/short load test but I wouldn't want to leave it on longer than a minute or so without some kind of heat protected surface to put it on and a fan or blower for cooling.
