I had the ESP8266 boards manager already installed on the Arduino software and it was to upload examples to the LoLin. Everything worked well. 1. no driver is needed for Win10 2. baud rate is actually 115200 (just ignore what is written on the back side), "board NodeMCU 1.0"

This is a nice, and perfectly working implementation of the opensource nodemcu development board. It's pinout matches the Amica versions, but keep in mind, that this one is the same width as the original (V1) nodemcu. This means it won't be compatible in size with the V2 versions. If you're confused, then here's a nice comparison of the different boards available: http://frightanic.com/iot/comparison-of-esp8266-nodemcu-development-boards/

I was confused for a bit when I first received this: my pc would recognize the serial port only when I initially plugged it in, or when I held down the reset button. To use this you either need a powered hub that does not current limit the usb port, or an external +5V supply connected to the Vin and G terminals of the board. Works great then. The lack of documentation is disappointing, but they do state that they do not provide any..

I'm very happy with this small devkit so far! I have some "original" NodeMCUs, and in general, the stability is an issue (random crashes). However, the LoLin never crashed, and the range of the WiFi is quite impressive. They have another serial driver than the version from Amica, the CH340, so you have to install this additionally, but it's not a big deal. I tried to flash it with the Arduino IDE, and the Explorer (in Lua), and it works like a dream. Totally recommended!!!

Great development board with an ESP-12-E wifi module and the latest (SDK v0.9.6) NodeMCU Lua firmware preinstalled.
