Although there appears to be very little diamond abrasive in the sintered block, this item is incredibly effective at smoothing out grinding wheels. Use a light touch and move the tool back and forth, the tool does the rest. I have been very impressed with how effective it is on a 1x8 inch wheel Should last for several grinding wheel dressings
