The device has lot of different moving patterns, that you can let cycle automatically or lock at a certain one. It is also possible to manually advance between patterns or speed them up/down. It is also possible to get a solid white, red, green or blue light. The only drawback that you cannot create an arbitrary custom colour. I am using it with a roll of AUDEW 1M/4M/5M RGB SMD5050 WS2812 300 LED Flexible Strip. It worked out of the box. A big enough power supply is necessary to have correct colours on full length.
