I have been using a small silicone mouse pad for doing things like putting on screen protectors and soldering on a non slip surface, replacing screens and batteries and other stuff to keep older electronic devices going. This is much larger, and thicker, and the spots to hold small screws will be nice, I am always chasing them down with a flash light and a magnet. It is a little grubby looking, 4 or 5 spots that are black and stained. Probably not affecting usage unless they are weak spots, but don't seem to be, I would prefer to be the one to mar the surface of it, but alas it is already done.
