bought the 12 gauge - it's bigger than I thought it would be (stranded wire sizes must be different than solid because it's definitely larger than standard household electrical wire. Wire works great, but you better have a powerful soldering iron - my little wimpy one struggles to heat this wire fast enough - the thick wire just sucks the heat out of my iron (which doesn't have enough mass nor amps to keep up)
