These are great for communal areas or dark corridors. I pay for the light in the front hallway and the switch isn't properly double-gang. So the upstairs neighbour either leaves the light on or I have to walk all the way down to the other end to switch it on. Inside the flat is a corridor with no windows. It's a pain to keep switching the light on and off. With these bulbs, you just leave the light on all the time and it only actually comes on if it "sees" you. The angle is wide enough and the distance far enough that all three of them work flawlessly. (The other one is on the top landing and works as soon as it sees you at the bottom of the stairs.)
