If your looking to simply drive some 'neo-pixel' LED's for decoration or display, this simplifies the task nicely. Instead of deploying a more versitile MCU such as a full ESP32, ESP2866 or Arduino dev board and having to worry about power and such matters. This takes the cheep ESP01's and in a tidy package, takes care of it for you. Just supply 5V and hook up your LED's.
