These lamp controllers work very good if you keep the load below 100 watts @110 volts AC. I had a failure on one of my bedroom nite stand lamps. We were very attached to the lamps and wanted to keep them. I purchase 3 of these controllers and repaired the broken lamp. I have 2 spare controllers. Each one has a wire diagram stamped on the case. Hook-up to the old lamp or device is made very simple with that feature.In my case the wire colors were identical to the old controller.
