This item is very good quality with a nice flexible AUX cable. It plugged straight into the back of my non Bose factory stereo on my Mazda 6. The stereo has an AUX button that is enable when this is plugged in. My stereo has a CD changer but this cable does not disable/replace it as the description may suggest. There is a spare connector on the back of the stereo that is accessible when you remove the glove box. Easiest to pop the center console panels out and withdraw the stereo from the dash though. I de-pinned the connector and feed the cable through a 4.5mm hole I drilled in the flip up compartment.

Fortunately my Mazda 6 was right hand drive so installing it only required the glove compartment's removal. Depending on your device - if you require it to be powered while using this aux cable you might need a filter on it.
