Goodreview, thanks. Wouldn't it be more electronically correct to say that the "pulse" energy for the the spot weld is supplied by the capacitor that you have to solder in? Plenty of people run these off 5 Amp bench power supplies that never get near 200 Amps.
For me that capacitor is the weak link, it is highly stressed and should be of excellent quality, if it dies the MOSFETS will smoke due to incorrect voltage biasing.
My first GEEKCREIT board was dead on arrival. I will probably double up the discharge capacitor as a safety precaution on the next board. Hope this helps us all :-)

jonas.huetter @MarkGood Thecapacitor is only there to smooth out the voltage of the battery under the short impulse so the device doesn't shut down or get damaged. People who use Capacitors have a much higher Farad rating (Farad is described how much energy can be stored in the capacitor). You won't need to add a second capacitor, mine is still fine after more than 1000 spot welds.
